Celebrate with whiskeys from Fort Collins and Northern Colorado
Here are a few top local distilleries that are marked down on our shelves. We’ll list them alphabetically, not in order of preference:
- 291 – They have won heaps of rewards for their rye and bourbons, which have a unique flavor profile due to aging with aspen barrel staves. Their Small Batch Rye is regularly $78.99, now $65.99; their Bad Guy Colorado Bourbon is usually $107.99, now $89.99
- Hogback – Their High-Rye Bourbon and Oak & Aspen Bourbon are both worthy of your WWD celebration, and they’re both marked down from $58.99 to $52.99.
- Ironton – Cam’s 1870, a collaboration with CSU’s Fermentation Sciences program, is a very drinkable Single Malt that supports the university. Enjoy it with your ram horns on, because the distillery shares the proceeds with CSU students, athletics and the alumni association. Discounted from $43.49 to $39.99.
- Laws – This Denver mainstay has a range of well-crafted whiskeys. We’ve marked down their Bonded 7-Year-Old Rye and Cognac-Finished Bourbon from $89.99 to $72.99; Their Four-Grain Bourbon is on sale from $65.99 to $52.99
- Mobb Mountain – This beloved Fort Collins distillery offers several expertly made spirits; try their flagship Bourbon, marked down from $39.99 to $32.99.
In the news
- Root Shoot – This Loveland distiller just won the London Spirits Competition’s award for Best American Single Malt. That’s a big win in a prestigious international competition. Congrats! If you want to taste how good American Single Malt can be, come grab a bottle at The MAX.
- Old Elk – Right after closing their tasting room on May 7, Old Elk announced that they sold the distillery to Middle West Spirits, one of the country’s largest independent distillers. It’s not goodbye, though: Both distilleries referred to the move as joining forces to increase production and unlock new potential.
